Slacker!

I apologize to anyone who came to my blog recently to see pictures that I promised I would post! They're clearly not on here yet :( I see I have quite a few new page views and now I feel bad for not keeping up on it like I said I would. I have to take a bunch of them off of my phone in order to get them on here so that has been my hang up; I'm sorry! I've been a big slacker lately!

I don't know about you but I am SOOOO ready for spring! I don't know where my motivation is, but I need to find it and do it fast!!  I have tons of projects half way done and many that aren't even started even though I have all the materials. I think the cold and wind has been affecting me, after several months of nothing but wind and chilly temps, it starts to affect my energy level and I find myself feeling tired all the time regardless of how much sleep I'm getting at night; maybe its my toddler draining it out of me ;)  No excuse though, I'm going to fix that and get some stuff done!!! :)

I'm hoping I can get those pictures up this week!! I am very excited to share them with you! :)

New professional look! :o)

I am so excited for my new business look!! I thought about attempting to design something myself but since I'm clueless on all the different layouts each page needs, ie Facebook, Etsy, a blog, business cards, etc, I decided I better just hire someone to do it for me and I am SOOOOOO glad I did! Roxanne at Crazy, Beautiful Designs whipped up a new look for me in no time. She hit a home run and I couldn't be more happy! I am now ordering business cards so I can get them over to the Crafter's Boutique, a retail shop that I sell out of. Apparently people are asking for business cards so that's exciting! :)

I feel so professional now and excited to get back to my sewing machine now that I fixed it. My goals for the remainder of the month are to get my Etsy store up and running as well as post pictures on this blog of work I have done so far. :) Can't wait to share with you!

Here is what my business cards look like! Super fun!

Introduction

Hello!
Welcome to my new business blog, Rustic Ambitions!  Thanks for stopping by.
I created this blog because I have family and friends who are not on Facebook to follow what I am creating and selling so this is a great way to share what I'm doing without overloading their in boxes or phones with pictures, plus I can share a little bit more information about a project. I'm hoping this blog and my business reaches more than just my current family and friends; I'd love to meet new people around the world through it.

A little about me: My name is Melissa, I am a stay at home mom for almost 8 years now and I have a beautiful little family that includes my husband, Justin and our two kids, Natalie, she's 6 and Raylan, he's 2; oh and our two pets, Zip our boarder collie and Lucky our cat! :) We are all born and raised (or being raised) in WYOMING! We love it here, although the wind and winters are not my favorite, overall its a great place to live! ;)

I have "Crafter's ADD", I cannot stick to just one thing to create!! I love to sew, re-purpose old and new items, build signs, paint, bake, work in the garden, and home improvement projects. Anything that can keep me busy and creating, I'm going to do it; I love a challenge!
I LOVE Pinterest! I find a lot of inspiration from there and it's usually where I find my MUST DO projects for either my house and yard or for things to sell. I'm sure many of you can relate to that! The website is super addictive! :) You can follow me there at pinterest.com/mtaylor24

I have only been selling my crafts since October of 2013. Although, I've been crafting for some time, most of my life really, I've always been afraid to sell my stuff in fear of criticism. I'm kind of OCD about perfection and having things look and be done a certain way so I figured everyone else would be too! lol I finally decided to go for it and started with a local craft fair, then got into a boutique, and sold from local Facebook groups. I've had a great turn out so far and I'm looking to expand my audience by selling online at Etsy and possibly Storenvy. As soon as my shop is finished on Etsy, I will let you all know where to find me! :)

Anyway, that's a little bit about me for now, I hope you come back often or even subscribe to see what's going on with Rustic Ambitions (my husband came up with the name and I love it! It's very fitting for me). I'm excited to try out this blogging thing, I've never done it before so hopefully I do it right!!

Here is my Facebook page in case any of you are on there too, you can "like" my page and follow me through that as well. facebook.com/rusticambitions
